The figures are in for February 2012 and the top selling business mobile phones have been compiled into a Top 10 list. Seven of the handsets from January have remained in the list with just three new entries.

And the winner is….the Apple iPhone 4S…..again. It looks like the new iPhone is going to be a dominant force in 2012. Whilst we’re talking about Apple, look out for their new iPad (iPad 3) which looks likely to be announced on the 7th March.

A surprise new entry is at 2, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro. Surprising because Sony Ericsson rarely make an appearance in the Top 10 list. The Xperia Pro has bucked the trend though, following on from its good showing in November and December 2011.

Nokia do well with 3 entries at numbers 3, 5 and 6. They provide solid talk and text handsets and their three phones in the list (C1-01 at 3, 6303i at 5,  and C2-01 at 6) represent good value for money.

In the middle of these three is the HTC Wildfire S at number 4. This remains the most popular HTC handset for our business users giving an Android SmartPhone for the budget conscious.

Samsung fill the next two places at 7 and 8. The B2100 is their “tough” phone for workmen and their Samsung Galaxy Ace is similar to the HTC Wildfire in being a good budget Android SmartPhone.

Finally BlackBerry bring up the rear at 9 and 10 with their expensive 9780 Bold and their more budget friendly 8520 Curve.

Billed as "the most amazing iPhone yet" the iPhone 4S boasts a faster dual-core A5 chip and a range of other features which keep iPhone ahead of the pack:
  • 8MP camera with all new optics
  • 1080p HD video
  • Retina display screen
  • iOS5
  • iCloud
  • Siri (voice command intelligent assistant).
It will be available from October 14th in the UK from Apple stores starting at £499 for a 16GB version.

The iPhone 4S features in more detail

Running iOS5, an operating system with 200 extra features according to Apple, in tandem with the new A5 chip (two times more power and up to seven times faster graphics) it will be faster than the iPhone 4 for just about everything but still retaining an excellent battery life too.

The Retina display screen is the highest-resolution phone screen ever with a pixel density so high that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels, ideal for displaying photos from the 8-megapixel resolution camera with a custom lens and larger f/2.4 aperture. Or the 1080p HD video which runs at 30 frames per second.

iCloud stores music, photos, apps, mail, contacts, calendars, documents and more which can be shared across all of your Apple devices (including iPads and iPods).

Then there's Siri, your own virtual assistant which responds to your voice commands. According to Apple Siri "not only understands what you say, it knows what you mean. It works out the right apps to use to find the right answer.  It makes phone calls, sends messages, schedules meetings, sets reminders and more." All with the power of your voice.
