GSM Gateways and Premicells
A GSM Gateway, also known as a Premicell, is a hardware device which contains one or more SIM cards and allows a landline based call to be routed through a mobile phone in the most cost effective way by cutting out the connection charge imposed by the company that supplies your landline to mobile service.
WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER INSTALLING A GSM GATEWAY?
If your employees are always travelling or you telephone canvass new prospects, you will know that the quickest route of contact is generally by calling a mobile phone number or sending a text message.
Telephone costs are becoming more and more expensive and companies are becoming increasingly aware that their monthly or quarterly telephone bills are predominantly made up of landline to mobile calls.
It is usually the case that a mobile phone number is the best method of contacting someone, as it is usually the number that can be relied upon to make contact quickly.
By installing a GSM gateway alongside, or within your existing Telephone PBX system, calls made to a mobile prefix (07) are detected and automatically routed through a sim card in the gateway. Normal landline to landline calls pass straight through the gateway and on to the fixed line network as normal.
HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I SAVE?
Calls made to mobile phones from fixed landlines supplied by BT, NTL, etc. and generally cost between 10p and 20p depending on the time of day and the network being called i.e. Orange, Vodaphone, O2, T-Mobile, 3, Virgin.
By connecting a GSM Gateway to your telephone system, and routing the outbound call to the network that your mobile phones are using, means that all calls to your group of mobiles are FREE and the cost of calls to other mobile numbers comes out of your inclusive minutes. This can make a huge saving on your telephone bills.
